Hi folks,
I hope someone may be able to throw some light on the
following odd behaviour. I have a postgres 7.3.2
installation on Solaris9 that I want to access from
Windows PCs using the squirrel 1.1-final client.
The windows version is Windows2000 Professional/SP3.
The java version on the PCs is:
"Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition
(build 1.3.0-C)"
I am using a jdbc driver called 'pg73jdbc2ee.jar.zip'
that I got from the Postgresql java website.
The driver loads up OK and appears in the client as
active. I can connect to the database without any
problems.
In the client GUI I can view everything under the
'Objects' tab such as table content, table columns,
primary keys, views, etc. If I click on 'Content' for
any given table I get an instant list of all the rows.
However the SQL tab is not working. I can type in
any simple select statement (select * from <tablename>;)
for the same table for which I just viewed the content
and nothing happens at all.
No list, no new tab, nothing. I'm not a java expert, so
I would appreciate any help on how to try and
troubleshoot this.
thanks
Denis
