Every time I close SQuirreL (1.1final1) on my laptop (an IBM ThinkPad =
R32 with Win2k), my cursor starts moving awfully slow and all other =
interactions with the OS stop (no alt-tab, not even ctrl-alt-del does =
anything). Eventually the cursor will lock.
SQuirreL is about the only Java app I use daily on my work machines, but =
I've tried a few trivial examples without issue and JEdit works just =
fine. Closing with Ctrl-Q, the "x" button on the window, or closing the =
console that's opened SQuirreL will all cause the same lock-up. This =
happens whether I start up with the *.bat or by double-clicking the =
*.jar. It seems to only happen after I've opened a connection to a =
datasource.
I'm using java 1.4.1_01, Standard Edition.
As a random red herring, occasionally my Gateway laptop at home will =
lock up when I close Eclipse and/or some other Java apps I've written. =
I do not use SQuirreL at home, preferring to leave the rdbms work at =
work for the most part! ;^)
SQuirreL works fine on my tower at work, fwiw, so this is a relatively =
strange error that I can't quite debug. If anyone's seen anything =
similar, I'd be interested to hear what's what. If somebody has things =
working on an IBM R32 with 1.4.1_01, please lemme know!
Thanks,
Ruffin Bailey
