Thanks for your response.
I am a business user and I am not even sure where to run the shell script. The only place I have access to the DB is through Squirrel. I wouldn't mind running the script from the command line, but I doubt I have access to it.

Run a number of predefined queries every day to a file? Why use an
interactive client for that? I would suggest a much more appropriate
solution would be writing a shell script around the database's native
command-line client.
If you don't know how to do that, this is an excellent opportunity to
learn how.
