Thanks again but stil nothing.
Same results.  I also just deleted the classpath variable altogether.  I
tried both single-quotes and double-quotes around the ".".
Any other options?

Ah, yes.  I've run into that - I think the problem was that the classpath
is just too long.  Which you can remedy by not using absolute paths. I'm
not in front of the box I have Squirrel installed on, but I believe there's
a variable set to the path to that directory; you can replace the full path
with '.'.

  Open up a command window.  In that command window, cd into the directory
  containing the squirrel-sql.bat file.  Then type "CMD" to start a new
  command shell inside the same window.  Then type squirrel-sql.bat.  That
  should let you see the error message.
