The Contents Tab SQL Filter is a little annoying. Each time I'm closing SQuirreL it forgets the filter criteria. I would rather keep it saved particularly if the where or order clause is comprehensive.

Another enhancement would be to have an editable filter row above the grid view tabs where someone can change the filter criteria real quickly and maybe can pick from past filter requests (like other clients are doing).

"Contents Tab SQL Filter": IMO that just needs a button to export the internally constructed SQL command into the SQL tab.

About the "editable filter row": can you please make that an extra request with more specific details, because it might help the developers better understand what you need and make tracking easier.
(For more detailed data analysis/inspection I soon use spreadsheet software anyway, but in SQuirreL the "Overview / Charts" tab has the useful feature of showing the number of distinct values for each column and can do some filtering.)

Agree on export the internally constructed SQL command into the SQL tab.
This could be added in Objects Menu -> Scripts -> Create Filtered Data Script.
It would be a nice feature (time saver + we would get option to see count on filtered data).
