This request is currently centered on a squirrel client that is pointing at all SQL Server DBs.
I'm noticing lately that if I open squirrel while catalog related operations are in progress, I lock up. The contention is always squirrel reading the catalog.
I'd like to request an option to allow dirty reads on the catalog queries. Essentially, every table in the queries that read the catalog would require a "(nolock)" on them.
I think this would also reduce the risk of locking others out with our catalog queries as well.
