This bug has to do with focus loss and is a continuation of this bug:

http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1830649&group_id=28383&atid=393414

I didn't want to lose track of it when I closed the ticket for the original problem.

And one more that I couldn't pin down but figured out how to reproduce.

When in the Objects tab, if I am in the right-side content pane then I
click in the object tree on the left, focus goes to the Catalog dropdown
box at the top-left instead of the object tree. The funny part is the
focus gets correctly placed on my previously selected node if I click on
whitespace/uninhabited area of the object tree, but if I click an
object/node in the tree the focus goes to the Catalog dropdown instead.

If I'm not paying attention to this and start typing to find the object
I'm looking for, Squirrel will change the current catalog instead (locking
up for about 18 seconds with 100% CPU [on a 2GHz proc] in the mean time),
then collapse the object tree and I lose my place.
