Sorry, I can't reproduce your EDT Violation problem. As can be seen in the log panel at the bottom of your screenshot an error log was created. Could you please attach the error log to this bug. The log can be accessed by clicking the icons of the log panel.

Concerning your lost connection information: Do you mean your Aliases?
If so you may try the following: Go to menu File --> Global Preferences and see where your SQuirreL user directory is at the bottom of the dialog. Close SQuirreL. Go to your user directory and delete the SQLAliases23_treeStructure.xml file.
