#21 v3 backward compatible kernel patch?

You suggested on LKML in January of 2009 that you would try to provide backward compatibility patches for the kernel squashfs. I don't see any sign of it on the web site or in the sources. Any possibility other than rolling my own?

I find it pretty asinine that the kernel hackers wouldn't even allow at least an optional read-only backward compatibility.
