mksquashfs & hidden files

    Hi guys,
I'm trying to make a system using squashfs and I have been surprised by the behavior of mksquashfs.
I have a folder "parent" in which there are three folders: child1, child2 and .child3  (child3 is hidden)

I want parent to be the root. If I run :
    mksquashfs parent mysqh.sqh
only child1 and child2 are included in mysqh.sqh

    Same result with :
    mksquashfs parent/* mysqh.sqh

However, this works with this command :
    cd parent
    mksquashfs child1 child2 .child3 ../mysqh.sqh

    Is this a bug or a feature ? ;)
And is there an option in mksquashfs which allows to include automatically the hidden files/directories ?

    Thanks for your answers.

Sorry, I'm using squashfs 4.0 + lzma, compiled on a debian lenny.
