When you rotate the grid, the number of rows fetched,
written at the bottom of windows, give the number of
column. If no row fetched, you see the number of column

I think that it is consistent behaviour.
SELECT dummy,'a','b' FROM dual
SELECT dummy,'c','d' FROM dual
We'll see 3 records with data:
b) SELECT dummy,'a','b' FROM dual WHERE 1=0
SELECT dummy,'c','d' FROM dual WHERE 1=0
We'll see also 3 records with data:
I agree that there is no 'real' data. Before rotation we
have 3 colums and NO rows, but after rotation there are
exactly 3 rows and NO colums.
