It would be nice to have the log output colour coded i.e errors in red, etc. probably best to provide a colour picker in the menu.

Actually the log output is more like a debug mode than
anything else. If you really need a logging tool rather than
a JDBC profiling , I recommend you check out Chainsaw 2 that
is about to be release on the Log4j project at
http://jakarta.apache.org/log4j
