I think it has to do with Accept specifically. Passing --headers="X-Forwarded-For:192.168.1.31\nAccept:application/json" results in the X-Forwarded-For header being present, but Accept is still text/html. I am using --data as well, so it is a POST. This is an application I am working on privately in my free time, so willing to send any traffic information/commands off list.
