Ibrahim,

If you are running Mandrake 8.0 (installed from the commercially =
available CD's) you should not really need to worry about Mandrake =
itself.
1st you need to know if you installed (during your Mandrake 8.0 =
installation) PostgreSQL
2nd you need to know if you installed DBI and DBD-pg (I did it with =
.rpm's found on the net. I believe I have installed the following:
      perl-DBD-Pg-0.95-1mdk.i586.rpm and perl-DBI-1.14-4mdk.i586.rpm =
(the DBI you can find on one of the Mandrake 8.0 CD's as well if you =
bought 'the pack'.
3rd You need to be sure you start Pg with the '-i flag' =3D> see =
previous mails.
4th Follow in detail the installation instructions of SQL-ledger.
5th If it still douesn't work read trhough ALL my previous mails of the =
last few weeks on the message board. I think I have been pretty detailed
      about the hick-ups I had with Mandrake 8.0.
6th If you still can't get it to work send a detailed report of the =
errors you get on your screen and in your logs (copy, paste them !!!!)

compris que vous tournez sql-ledger sur Mandrake 8.0. Je n'ai toujours =
pas r=E9ussi =E0 l'installer sur ma machine (Mandrake 8.0). Pouvez-vous =
me donner des informations sur votre configuration, tel que :=20

      group ( idem)=20
      lieu o=F9 vous avez mis le r=E9pertoire sql-ledger=20
      le propri=E9taire du sql-ledger et ses fichiers et =
sous-repertoires=20
  car chaque fois j'essaies de faire un login j'obtiens le fameux =
message d'erreur de serveur et que je dois contacter root@.......=20
  En lisant le fishier error_log il dit qu'il ne peut pas executer =
sql-ledger.gif, car je n'ai pas de permission.=20

  Je serais tr=E8s r=E9connaisant, car je commence =E0 d=E9sesp=E9rer.=20

Thanks for the response. Picking up you points here are my answers

 1-  PostgreSQL is running well and I can access sql-ledger files
through pgaccess (thanks to your -i flag positionning tip)
 2 - Pg driver seems to be correctly installed (When I first install
DBI-Pg I had an error message, but after removing the DBI- component
that type of error has dissapeared)
 3 - see 1
 4 - I have been following installation instructions since version 1.2.9
but I have not been successful (only since version 1.4.5 that I can have
been able to get a login and admin screens. Infact I have posted my
problems several times, and inspite of good intentions of trying to help
me, none of these have been successful in solving my problem)
 5 - I have been following this mailing list for quite a while now and
try to read every tip for on installation but no success
 6 - I will send my last error messages tonight

Any new proposal
