All,
I've been struggling trying to get this script to work. It looks like
serious perl coding but it's utterly opaque. The file it looks for appears
to have to be called "gnucash.xml", but what file is that? My gnucash
file? My gnucash foobar.xac file? An export of my gnucash file? And what
and whare is the output? Only once have I been able to get this to work
and all it seemed to do is create a COA using my gnucash account names,
but no actual data was loaded. Does this script not do this? I have been
unable to repeat even that meager result by renaming any of those
versions of my data to "gnucash.xml". I am currently using GN-2.0.5 on
FreeBSD-6.2 and postgreSQL-8.2.3.
I have found a lot of posts from people looking to get their data into
sql-ledger from gnucash; I have ten years worth myself, but I don't intend
to walk away from it and start over. gnc20.perl is my ticket, but I'm a
user, not a perl monger. It needs to "just work", and with some indication
that is has done so. Or some indication that it hasn't. Or some indication
of what it's looking for.
An empty install of sql-ledger works fine, so I know I have the db and
apache stuff screwed down. I just need to get the data in there. Is there
a recipe for that? Anywhere?
frustrated regards,
