error!

hi, 
 i am new in this stuff, i have mandrake 8.0 and
sql-ledger v. 1.6.0.

i tried to install several times, follow all the
instructions and now i am reciving this message:

"Error! PQconnectPoll() -- Connect() failed: conection
refused"

what i am doing wrong. i will apreciate any help.

I am running the same software, and it works.  I think
you need to change the postgres startup, so that
TCP/IP connections are enabled.  I can't remember the
command line switch off the top of my head, but it is
in the postgres documentation.

It's -i

However, a better method is to remove the host and port information from
the DBI connect string.  If you do so, DBI will use the UNIX domain socket
to connect instead of TCP/IP.

The connect string was revised in version 1.6.2

If nothing is entered in the host and port field then the connect string
is built without it.

Yeah I thought I remembered seeing that posted.  Sorry, haven't upgraded to
1.6.x yet.  However, I was just pointing out a better solution to the network
connection problem - clearing the host and port fields I guess should be
sufficient.
