Then you can find the SL in /usr/ports/finance directory. <gently flame=3Doff> But in the long run with FreeBSD you can not avoid reading the handbook. It will pay you in time. I promisse. I've just taken to putting the purchase order number in the "order" field, but if there is a way to pass this info to the invoice I'd be happier. Thanks. Message-ID: <460...@jr...> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=3DISO-8859-1; format=3Dflowed Hi Jigme I do the same as David, if you set up your 'deduction' liability=20 accounts (tax owing, employment insurance owing, pension owing etc) they will appear in the drop down menus of the AP module. You can put in the=20 gross pay and assign it to an expense and then use negative numbers to=20 'deduct' from the gross and assign the 'deductions' to liability=20 accounts. When I'm all done printing the cheques I do a GL entry to=20 account for the matching expenses, I, for example, expense the amount I=20 have to match on their pension contributions (Pension expense) and add=20 it to a liability account called 'pension owing' (same account I used=20 when cutting their cheque). This way both my contribution and their=20 contribution end up in the same liability account. At the end of the=20 month when it's time for remittance I pay from a bank account and=20 decrease the liability account back to zero. None of this does anything for the calculations that have to be made to=20 determine how much each employee has to pay each of the various=20 deductions. I have a spreadsheet with the Canadian formulas in it to do=20 that and it's printout is what I use to cut the cheques and do the GL entry. After a long time looking at the books and reports, talking with the accountant etc, I am suspecting the Accounts Receivable as having to do with my problem, so I wanted to see if anyone could shed some light on this issue.=20 =20 My accounting is on a cash basis, and I am generating the balance sheet [1] and seeing a line for AR in assets. When I generate the trial balance, I see an amount for AR that is different (larger) than what showed on the balance sheet. I also tried to compare this to what I get if I do a report on open AR transactions - and I get yet another number for outstanding AR! Any idea why these would be different?=20 =20 The other thing I am suspecting has to do with the current earnings vs net income. I performed a "year end" process at 12-31-2005. However, my current earnings (Balance Sheet) and net income (Income Statement) still do not match. I thought this process was supposed to bring these two into line. Any suggestions on bringing them into balance?=20 =20 Thanks in advance for your help in setting this issue.=20 =20 Regards, Chris =20 [1] Why is AR shown on the balance sheet for cash accounting?=20 =09 --------------------------------- Pregunt?. My guess is that you have not yet created some of the tables. Have you skipped a step in the new user list? I had this same error a couple of days ago. The reason was that I had dumped all my data and then did a DROP DATABASE "sql-ledger"; CREATE DATABASE "sql-ledger"; on another machine in preparation to load the dumped data. I was interrupted and forgot to do the load. When I next logged in, I got the error you noted. The database sql-ledger was there, but it was empty.
