  using opera6 ( which allows background printing) I get this error when
entering: http://localhost:8000/login.pl ( thx anyone for assistance)

I had this problem until I told opera to identify itself as another
browser, IE I think.

For a quick fix, go to your Opera network preferences and change 
"Browser Identification" to identify Opera as Mozilla or MSIE.
