Do many of us use pgaccess to modify and extend our PostgreSQL databases? If not? then What are you using? Well, reading the README file answered one of my nagging question on how to 'Auto Build' my PostgreSQL database tables and preload some default data. My current Progress based project has over five-hundered tables with only eight of which exceed a 35K schema size. I was pleased to find in the PostgreSQL documentation the ability to create fields as array. Really comes in handy for inventory MTD information, general ledger bugetary data as well as payroll deductions and earnings options for employees. --Hal. =========================================================== Hal Davison Internet Petroleum Gateway Davison Consulting Caldera 2.2.14 eServer 6850 Myakka Valley Tr PostgreSQL 7.03 - Sun Forte - JAVA Sarasota, Florida 34241 Phone: (941) 921-6578 http://faams.net eFAX: (419) 821-5999 =========================================================== |

Hal- Thats okay, I like details :) So are you looking to port the Progress 4GL product or enhance an existing product like SQL-Ledger to meet your requirements? 11 taxes! I assume that means we could use a/the development list for sql-ledger, if we do want to discuss development issues and exchange patches as attachments? The sourceforge Lists site for sql-ledger only shows the users list. I'm quite interested in having a development list, as well. Hello I'm new to the list and new to sql-ledger. I managed to install sql-ledger, created a database in PostgreSQL, and I also created myself as a user in sql-ledger. But when I try to log on, I get a DBI::errstr error. In the error_log there's something about a missing table. Any ideas? TIA, Andreas |

The Postgresql postmaster has to be started w/ the -i option to listen on port 5432. You may also have to edit your pg_hba.conf depending on your system/network. Open postgresql to the internet and you should be fine. Steve Richard Eicher II wrote: > Ok I think I have this setup, but still have an > internal error on the login.cgi. Rick, There is a README file which covers a basic installation. You could also check out the FAQ for more clues. All the required parts needed to successfully run SQL-Ledger are listed on the source code page with links pointing to the websites where you can retrieve the source code.
