I am still running the version before last for SL on a woody box. I have no problem so far. I will attempt to update my system tonight and will email you. If your problem persist, I will try my best to assist you. Make sure you have the correct version of Postgressql installed. I beleive the version of Postgressql that you need is not on the package list like you said, I downloaded the latest Postgressql source and compile a deb file using checkinstall.
