I have managed to get SL installed and it seems to run up to the point where I try to create databases or login to the accounting system. I tried SL several versions ago & decided to wait for it to mature. I want to try it now to see if will meet my needs. Is there any body here with experience with Debian that I can correspond with to get SL working? I have it installed on a Woody box that is currently up to date. I also do not normally use postgres but MySQL, which is easier to manage but does not perform transaction accounting. I need to swithc over and currently not sure where the error is. It seems to be that SL will communicate with the postgresql server but is refused admittance to the database that I created using psql command line instructions. I did create a postrgres user that is also a linux user and I added the www-data user to postgres as well. I did read & follow the Debian installation instructions in the FAQ. The error that I get is below; Error! IDENT authentication failed for user 'fred' -- John Foster |
