Dear netters, I was wondering if there are other packages that can be compared with SQL-ledger. What are their advantages and disadvantages. Would it be possible to include part of other packages in SQL-ledger, like a better invoice modules. As a start I have created a list of packages that sound interesting. Especially, DEA sounds interesting since it has PDF generating capacities, which allows for more professional invoices. I didn't try them all myself yet, but they look interesting. Further, are their other frontends for the SQL-Ledger database. I am thinking of Applix Office for example. Using the SHELF language this should be possible to do without much effort. Anyone experiences? Overview of financial packages: http://freshmeat.net/articles/view/269/ DEA (Distributed Environment for Administration) *NEW* http://dea.life.be/ Nola http://freshmeat.net/projects/nola/ *NEW* Compiere http://www.compiere.org/index.html Xiwa http://xiwa.sourceforge.net/ Quasar (Commercial, $99); Qt http://www.linuxcanada.com/quasar.html I would like to make a list of all packages (commercial and free) for business users. Complete with descriptions and review. Just to help others in their migration from Win to Linux. Hopefully, you can help. Kind regards, Rene Nederhand |
