You can set the date under Preferences. Setup -> Preferences enter the date format in the field "Date Format" to match your SQL server's dateformat. You have to do this for every user. If you want to display/enter the dates in a different format, then the default i.e. dd.mm.yyyy enter "dd.mm.yyyy" in the "Date Format" field and enter 'set DateStyle to German' in the "Database Options" field.
