Dieter, Just downloaded 1.2.8 and I'm wonderering if there is anything I'll need to worry about in integrating it into my changes. The scripts I've changed so far are the login.cgi and, slightly, the admin.cgi. Does the new version effect these in any way? Here are my changes, in summary, they are mostly asthetic changes, but they do make the program a little easier to navigate. Please try out these changes (in a dummy setup) and see what you think. I don't know where these might conflict with 1.4 but I you could integrate these changes I think SQL-Ledger will be well served. Thanks. Images: I changed the Login screen to be cleaner looking. I made a new graphic (sql-ledger-2.png) that's curretnly a bit U.S.A. oriented but I would like to change other characters in it to be different currency symbols as well (currently the S in SQL is a dollar sign, but I would like a pound symbol for the L, etc.) Unfortunately I couldn't find those symbols in the Gimp. But its a start and I think it makes a good logo. I also took your origonal graphic and touched it up (sql-ledger-1b.png), and kept it on the old Version page of login.cgi. I renamed you original graphic sql-ledger-1a.gif, but its not being used now. Also I MOVED THESE THREE GRAPHIC FILES TO AN "images" DIRECTORY instead of having them in the main directory, keeping in mind that in the future more graphic images may be added and it would be good to keep them seperate. Finally, on images, I used .png instead of .gif because .gif is not an open-source format. And this is an open-source project! :) Login: You will see that I rearranged the login window a bit to bring the login prompts closer to the top of the page. I think they are more readily available in that position. Menus: I also rearranged the menus a little by taking the links in the bottom section and moving them to the side section under a heading of Administration. I increased the size of the side bar a little. I also renamed Version to About, since it contains more than just the version. Rather than Accounting at the top of the menu I put Main Menu and increased the font size one. There were a number of places where I put in absolute font sizes instead or relative + or - sizes, since realtive make it difficult to know what the size will be just from the code. On the admin.cgi menu I put a "Back to Main Menu" link under the Setup Menu header, which I increased in size by one too. The bottom section now just contains the User's Name, and is a little bigger to remove the scroll bar that appears to the right. I would like to Add the current date and time to the right side of this section, but hadn't gotten to it yet. Finally: For the wording changes I made I did not correct any of the translation files. And I forgot to wrap the "locate" around a couple of place in the login screen. These will obviously need to be done. Also you will notice two new main menu options, one for Sales Orders and the other for Search Sales Orders. I'm working on the scripts for these, and I'm fairly well along actually. For now just ignore them and I will send them to you when I'm done. -- Thomas Sawyer ps...@on... - email ---- Dieter Simader <dsi...@sq...> wrote: > It includes the Brazilien Portugese translation and an option to include > fields of your choice in the AR/AP reports. > > All listed in the 'what's new file'. > http://www.sql-ledger.org/news.html > > > Dieter Simader http://www.sql-ledger.org (780) 472-8161 > DWS Systems Inc.
