For what it's worth we've had several problems with the summary reports completely missing accounts resulting in totally incorrect values.  The actual account balances are correct though so we gave up trying to figure out why the summaries were off and just do our own reports based on that.  In all fairness even though we had a support contract with Dieter we never bothered to ask him, so there could have been a simple answer - might be worth it!

Here's my issue. Our current earnings is off by 54,300.03  its been off by
this number for years. I'd would like to correct it, but I am not seeing
how to affect current earnings without putting my income statement out of
wack. I tried modifying retained earnings and using long term loans as the
offesetting account, but it had zero effect on current earnings. 

Any suggestions?
