   We've run nothing but linux for more than a decade.

   The LJ 5 works just fine. Your solution, if applied to automobiles, would
be to replace your car if the windshield wipers stopped working.

   The problem that arose here has nothing to do with the printer. I can
print from other applications, print from within SL to a PostScript file
(which can then be printed using lpr), and had printed directly from within
SL for the past four years.
