If someone is going to put $20k-40k in some software he also needs to consider (among other things): 1. Which project is open to criticism and critical discussions. 2. Number of core developers behind it. 3. Core architecture. 4. Community and number of other contributors. and so on. LedgerSMB is currently in terrible state right now but seems to have great future ahead with a great community. Things will be clear after the release of 1.3.
