I regards to the first part of your message, we had a similar problem. It 
seems that this SQL command tries to build a new table called curr and fills 
it with all distinct currencies it will find in the respective curr column in 
ar, ap, gl and oe.  If one of them is NULL, there will be a not-null 
contraint error.  Find your NULL in these tables and change it to a valid 
currency symbol.
