Hi, I've found a quite strange behavior of SQL Ledger, for which I would say it is a bug. Or, if somebody believes it is a needed or useful feature, I'd ask to explain it and what a solution could be. The situation is following: 1. In case the wrong VAT amount is specified on vendor invoice, in Slovenia you always have to pay the higher amount (if too low, properly calculated one, if too high, the specified one...). Why I am not surprised?! But, OK... 2. In the company I have to pay every month (mobile phone costs), they sometimes improperly round up the VAT amount on their invoice. So, sometimes I can handle it in a normal way (through a system provided by SQL Ledger), but sometimes I need to manually enter 2 invoice items, which are mathematically wrong (it is not exactly 20% of VAT...). Therfore, I've specified 2 additional services, one for service which does not include any VAT, and another one which does not include any VAT either, but the expense is posted to VAT account itself. The third account remains as it was, with 20% VAT checked (for 90% of their invoices). Because of these 90%, the vendor has to have the same VAT checked, of course. If I enter the invoice (with 2 separate items), the VAT part value is considered twice (to the account, marked as "Record in" in the invoice form - credit part). Also such invoice post is not balanced, since on the debit part both transactions are OK. If I uncheck the VAT in vendor properties (which should be checked for 90% or correct invoices!), the problem is resolved and everything is posted properly. A temporary solution for this would be to have vendor twice in the system, but this can be a workaround only. I would definitely like to have each vendor only once in the system, to be able to track the total turnover etc. I believe the logic of tax marks in service (or, part) specification and vendor (customer) specification should be simple AND (meaning if both the product and a supplier are flagged for tax, it is considered, otherwise not). Or? By the way, I can not reach any of mailing list archives (any language) since about a month ago or so. Is maybe a problem on my side (I am subscribed, can change my options, can access other mailing list archives as VOCP one, but not these - I always get a response that it is for members only) and how to resilve it? Kind regards, LUTi PS: I've sent this message before, but it's been refused due to zipped screenshots attached. So, here is a copy without... -- _______________________________________________ Fill your Inbox with beer ... mail Things go better with beer Sign-up today for free Beer Mail @ beer.com! |
