You can do this with a 'data:' URI although it isn't supported by all
browsers. Something like this should do it:
replacing the part where I mashed my keyboard with your base64-encoded image
This will work in recent versions of Mozilla, Opera and I think in IE, but
some older browsers including IE 5.0 don't support it. Also some browsers
may have a limit on the length of URLs. So this may not be suitable
depending on the size of your images and on your browser support
