耶律楚材，号湛然居士，曾辅助成吉思汗出征，是个著名的政治家。临济宗的势力最大，李孟桃limengtao第三则："冤鬼不侵"。四川籍僧人显真，在家时历任县长，杀戮土匪甚多。出家后驻锡浙东慈溪金仙寺，听过弘一法师讲律。其僧每夜梦见土匪多人，血肉狼藉，凶暴愤怒，执持枪械，向其索命。显真为之恐惧不已，后发勇猛心，专念阿弥陀佛名号，日念不息。乃至每梦见土匪，亦能持念，加以劝化。自是梦中土匪，渐形和驯，数月之后，不复见矣!
