Hi *, Before raising a JIRA I thought I would discuss this here and see if it is an issue or not but I believe it is. Assumptions: 1/ application is an MDI (but the issue is probably there for SDI too) 2/ I have a view that has a singleton DefaultViewDescriptor 3/ that view is opened and closed many times during a load test; each time a new View component (PageComponent) is created 4/ the memory keeps going up and up... It seems that each time a PageComponent is created, the DefaultPageComponentPane is created and it registers a propertyChangingListener (DefaultPageComponentPane.java line 47). I believe that this listener is *never* removed. The propertyChangeListener is registered on the PageComponent, i.e. an AbstractView which in turns calls getDescriptor().addPropertyChangeListener The descriptor is a singleton! it extends LabeledObjectSupport, which contains propertyChangeSupport and it is where the 'updater' is registered. So the number of listeners keeps growing in the DefaultViewDescriptor. options: - expose the PropertyChangeListener "updater" in DefaultPageComponentPane - provide a removePropertyChangeListener in DefaultPageComponentPane to remove the "updater" from the PageComponent - call this removePropertyChangeListener when the AbstractView is closed. What do you think? Sorry if it is a bit confusing.. just check the DefaultPageComponentPane the 'updater' is added but it is never removed as nobody can access it... Thanks!
