Yes, it's been explicitly turned non-final (see the changelog) to allow for
intercepting the entire form request handling. This has been requested by
some users.

Hi,

Is the handleRequestInternal method on AbstractFormController supposed to be
non final in Spring 1.2.7? I was just looking at the source and it looks
like it is. It was final on previous Spring versions by the looks of things.
