You're probably simply using the wrong Hibernate support package. You need
the "org.springframework.orm.hibernate3" package, not
"org.springframework.orm.hibernate" which you supposedly try to use at
present. Make sure that all your imports and bean definitions point to the
correct package there.

Subject: [Springframework-developer] Problem integrating Spring 1.2.7 with
hibernate 3
Hi Spring developers,
I am trying to create an application using hibernate and spring. I have set
hibernate3.jar and all the files under spring 1.2.7 in my class path. I am
getting the following error when I try to run the application:
org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean
with name 'sessionFactory' defined in class path resource
[edu/umn/web/spring/spring-dataaccess.xml]: Instantiation of bean failed;
nested exception is java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
net/sf/hibernate/cfg/NamingStrategy
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: net/sf/hibernate/cfg/NamingStrategy
at java.lang.Class.getDeclaredMethods0(Native Method)
As per my understanding, the net/sf/hibernate/cfg package has been changed
under Hibernate 3. Do I have to add any new jars or do something else to get
the application to work. Please help.
