I have spent the last couple of days installing a new build server,
which is going to replace the build facilities we had up until now.
Instead of having an environment that was shared with numerous other
projects being built, we'll now have a dedicated server on which only
Spring will be built. This means we can slowly start increasing the
amount of tests we're doing as part of the build and possibly also add
automated integration testing with different databases (possibly using
VMWare instances or something). That's still a long way from where I am
right now, but the new server is a start.
I'll probably be transmitting build reports over to the website
(removing the need to have a look at the cruisecontrol instance
mentioned in the build mails). Attached you'll find an example report
(this report is of a build that has failed due to misconfiguration in
the build infra last Monday). We can all change this, although it does
require some XSLT hacking, which I'm not that fond of ;-).
I'll probably have both builds running side-by-side for a while until
the new version is fully operational and doesn't have any issues anymore.
