Hi All, I have been working on a JSF, Hibernate, and Spring application. This application was initially developed using hibernate2. I updated the application with all latest jars and it was working all fine until yesterday when it suddenly started throwing the following exception. org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationExce ption: Error creating bean with name 'studentDetailsDao' defined in ServletContext resource [/WEB-INF/applicationContext.xml]: Error setting property values; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.PropertyBatchUpdateExcep tion; nested PropertyAccessExceptions (1) are: PropertyAccessException 1: org.springframework.beans.TypeMismatchException: Failed to convert property value of type [org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.HibernateTempla te] to required type [org.springframework.orm.hibernate.HibernateTemplat e] for property 'hibernateTemplate'; nested exception is java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Cannot convert value of type [org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.HibernateTempla te] to required type [org.springframework.orm.hibernate.HibernateTemplat e] for property 'hibernateTemplate': no matching editors or conversion strategy found org.springframework.beans.factory.support.Abstract AutowireCapableBeanFactory.applyPropertyValues(Abs tractAutowireCapableBeanFactory.java:1201) org.springframework.beans.factory.support.Abstract AutowireCapableBeanFactory.populateBean(AbstractAu towireCapableBeanFactory.java:940) org.springframework.beans.factory.support.Abstract AutowireCapableBeanFactory.doCreateBean(AbstractAu towireCapableBeanFactory.java:437) org.springframework.beans.factory.support.Abstract AutowireCapableBeanFactory$1.run(AbstractAutowireC apableBeanFactory.java:383) java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) org.springframework.beans.factory.support.Abstract AutowireCapableBeanFactory.createBean(AbstractAuto wireCapableBeanFactory.java:353) org.springframework.beans.factory.support.Abstract BeanFactory$1.getObject(AbstractBeanFactory.java:2 45) org.springframework.beans.factory.support.DefaultS ingletonBeanRegistry.getSingleton(DefaultSingleton BeanRegistry.java:169) org.springframework.beans.factory.support.Abstract BeanFactory.getBean(AbstractBeanFactory.java:242) org.springframework.beans.factory.support.Abstract BeanFactory.getBean(AbstractBeanFactory.java:164) org.springframework.beans.factory.support.DefaultL istableBeanFactory.preInstantiateSingletons(Defaul tListableBeanFactory.java:400) org.springframework.context.support.AbstractApplic ationContext.finishBeanFactoryInitialization(Abstr actApplicationContext.java:736) org.springframework.context.support.AbstractApplic ationContext.refresh(AbstractApplicationContext.ja va:369) org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoader.crea teWebApplicationContext(ContextLoader.java:261) org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoader.init WebApplicationContext(ContextLoader.java:199) org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoaderServl et.init(ContextLoaderServlet.java:81) javax.servlet.GenericServlet.init(GenericServlet.j ava:256) org.apache.catalina.startup.HostConfig.deployDescr iptor(HostConfig.java:608) org.apache.catalina.startup.HostConfig.deployDescr iptors(HostConfig.java:535) org.apache.catalina.startup.HostConfig.deployApps( HostConfig.java:470) org.apache.catalina.startup.HostConfig.start(HostC onfig.java:1122) org.apache.catalina.startup.HostConfig.lifecycleEv ent(HostConfig.java:310) org.apache.catalina.util.LifecycleSupport.fireLife cycleEvent(LifecycleSupport.java:119) org.apache.catalina.startup.Catalina.start(Catalin a.java:551) sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Nativ e Method) sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Native MethodAccessorImpl.java:39) sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(De legatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:585) org.apache.catalina.startup.Bootstrap.start(Bootst rap.java:294) org.apache.catalina.startup.Bootstrap.main(Bootstr ap.java:432) I was working with spring 2.5.1 and added all the related jar files. lavanya, There is a note in the changelog.txt file that as of 2.1 M2 support for hibernate2 has been dropped and that hibernate support is only for hibernate3. BTW, this list was intended for framework developers but is now essentially defunct. The best place to get free support is at the Spring Community Forum <http://forum.springframework.org/>.
