Yes it is exactly what I mean: =20 Under SAME windows user, the application may be logged in as user X, Y or Z= . At the moment, all settings will be for that Windows user. =20 Just a suggestion...but that would be really useful to me... =20 Thanks. =20 Benoit ----- Original Message ---- From: Rogan Dawes <ro...@da...> To: spr...@li... At the moment, if I use the j2seprefs.Pre= ferencesSettingsFactory, the user settings are stored in the registry indep= endently of the user logged in the application. >=20 > Basically, the "user" settings will be the same for ALL application usern= ame/password on that machine... >=20 > I think that I'd preferable to take the userId entered in the login scree= n by default and add this to the path for the preferences. >=20 > My =C2=A30.02 suggestion... >=20 > Thanks! >=20 > Benoit >=20 Surely it saves the settings into a user-specific part of the registry?=20 e.g. on Windows, under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ or under Unix, in a directory=20 structure under the current user's home directory. Isn't that enough? Or are you in a "shift-rotation" system where users=20 do not log off and log on as their own unique user?
