Updating spring-binding to a version 2+ is a key dependency that prevents cleanly updating to spring framework 3 and the spring enterprise repository.

Another intermediate (admittedly dirty) possibility might be to merge the needed components from spring-binding version 1 into RCP and pulling the remaining dependencies from spring-binding version 2.
