Hi Jim, My thoughts exactly... Basics should go before any other 'convenient stuff', and I'm totally for your approach. I'd really like to see Spring Desktop using some modular design like OSGi, but we can always do it later if we design the way it should, and when more of us have seen OSGi in action and have gotten familiar with the tech. I hope with your post we can put an end to the pro-OSGi vs. doubtful-OSGi camp. As it looks, it's the best of both worlds. Now, let's start focussing on the basics :).
