Hi I installed the splix driver from the OpenPrinting database http://www.openprinting.org/printer/Samsung/Samsung-CLP-315 on a system running openSUSE 11.3 with no error but when I try to make the cms for samsung printers:
Loki:/home/vendion # make installcms CMSDIR=~/cms MANUFACTURER=samsung
I get the following error:
make: *** No rule to make target `installcms'. Stop.
Is this a common problem? Should the printer be setup with cups before doing this step, if that is even possible? I normally would use the foo2qpdl driver but that won't even compile on this system for some reason.
Yes, you have to be in the splix source directory when running make.
The "installcms" is just section in the Makefile of splix. "make" reads that makefile and does what it says.
Just go to the splix source directory, of, if you installed splix with Yast, you'll need to download the source yourself. You won't have to rebuild it, just run the command in the splix source directory.
I've run this command it doesn't work. It just throws the error "Invalid Manufacturer"
