I have just been notified that that SPARC howto has been modified to include a mention to this distribution.
patches/packages/zlib.tgz: Upgraded to zlib-1.1.4.
This fixes a security problem which may introduce vulnerabilities into any program that links with zlib. Quoting the advisory on zlib.org:
"Depending upon how and where the zlib routines are called from the given program, the resulting vulnerability may have one or more of the following impacts: denial of service, information leakage, or execution of arbitrary code."... read more
patches/packages/mod_php.tgz: Upgraded to PHP 4.1.2.
This fixes several security problems in the POST handling code used for uploading files through forms. All sites using PHP are urged to upgrade as soon as possible.
A workaround for securing systems running PHP 4.0.3 or above (which includes Slackware 8.0) is to add this directive to the php.ini:
file_uploads = Off
The package that fixes this vulnerabiliy is available at the issuall locations.

The pine package has been updated to pine 4.44 in order to fix a vulnerability with pine 4.33. Please read the ChangeLog.txt from more information.
The splack packages that fixes the buffer overflow with the glob function at glibc are now available at the /patches directory of the Splack repository.
It is adviced that you upgrade this packages as soon as posible.
I need some one to compile the kernel package for the sun4c arquitecture (AFAIK, it can be one of the following SS's: SLC, ELC, IPC, IPX, 1, 1+ or 2) and for the JavaStation.
I don't actually need to have the machines here, I just need someone to run compile the kernels for me and then send me the files I need.
Help apreciated.

Upgraded to mutt-1.2.5.1 to fix a security problem in the address handling code. Mutt users are urged to upgrade as soon as possible.
A new directory called patches was added to the root of splack-current.
It includes the latest fixes to the vulnerabilities found in slackware 8.0, but compiled for splack.
