When I choose to use the 'menu' install method for installing packages, it works like I chose 'newbie' and prompts me for every package even after I clicked/uncliked what I wanted in each menu.

looks like they fixed it - make yer own cd from a recent personal mirror of splack-current, and dont forget to download the .boot directory
