Sphere3 performs strength and stability analyses of nearly perfect thin-wall spherical shells subjected to external hydostatic pressure. Both elastic and inelastic material behavior are supported. It handles single case and parametric studies using user defined geometry and material properties. The effects of initial out-of-sphericity, which govern a spherical Undersea Pressure Vessel’s performance, are estimated using the Krenzke–Kiernan method (David Taylor Model Basin Report 1757, Feb 1965).
