one problem I just found.
MNGs created using sphere's export spriteset direction as animation open in sphere but not in other MNG apps such as gif2mng (made by the creator of the MNG format) or imagemagick, and MNGs created using either of those two apps won't open in sphere ("error: could not load animation").
I think this could be fixed by building sphere against the current version of libmng (the full libmng, not the reduced library sphere currently uses).

this problem is also w/the engine. trying to load this animation using LoadAnimation results in a "couldn't load animation" error.
the sphere compatible MNG is "firewood.mng" and the "proper" MNG is "nds.mng" (supposed to be a nintendo ds opening).
it won't let me attach here...
