Hi,
I'm running a debian woody with a 2.4.17 kernel with
ppp over atm enabled.
When i'm installing the .deb pppd that i'm downloading
here, i'm getting "Illegal Instruction" whenever I'm
launching /usr/sbin/pppd. With or without any
arguments, same problem.
It's seems that the return code is 132.

I've also tried to compile pppd using the tar.gz
provided here, but i've got an error :
T2A_PVC and T2A_NAME are undefined in pppoatm.c

Thanks by advance to help me.

To let you know, i'm planning to use this with the
Bewan PCI st ADSL modem (the drivers are currently
working).

    hi,

I think we got illegal instruction because it's not a i386
    debian package but a i686

to compile correctly you must have the atm library
    developpement files.(apt-get install atm-dev)

but there is an unresolved symbol in pppoatm.so

your turn to help me :)

I get an Illegal Instruction too.

I've got 3 machines - 1 is an AMD Duron, which runs the pppd
    with no problems.
The other 2 are a P75 and P133, and the produce the Illegal
    Instruction error.

I suspect that this means that they have been compiled for
    MMX processors and above.

I've had similar problems trying to compile the source, so if
anyone has managed a compile, I'd appreciate if they could le
    me know how.

    Thanks.

    Stuart.
