We've drastically changed the way SpeedMud works -- to summarize: I won the database fight, and thusly SpeedMud will now support an external SQL database, or run a simple internal SQL database.
Now there's no icky flat-file business.
Instead of writing our own scripting language, we've sold out and will be implementing BSH or beanshell, a nifty little java scripting language.
I promise this whole project will look more coherent soon. :)
We started implementing Amphetamine, a scripting language, and parsing engine that, in time, will eventually drive most of the server.
We progressed in leaps and bounds today. Stay tuned!
Our sourceforge project was authorized today, so we're working on setting everything up to take full advantage of the great resources they provide.
