#1205 newcomer master server registering broken?

Hi there,
I've recently been able to compile speed-dreams on linux, and I am testing it and liking it :)
Stupid question or issue, but even though I am successful in creating a profile on the master server:

https://speed-dreams.net/masterserver/user/eatspeed

there is no way I can log in from the game. The "test login" does nothing. I've even tried to create another profile to be sure, and I am sure.
NB: no confirmation email received neither!

I do see some nasty things in the logs:

 <attstr name="message0" val="FAILED to login in as&#10;&#10;eatspeed&#10;&#10;Wrong username or password"/>

It looks like the keyboard input some junks when I type,, see some "$#10" around "eatspeed"!

Hello have you been able to solve your issue?
Have you tried to put manually the correct data in
.speed-dreams-2/drivers/human/preferences.xml
specifically in these fields

        <attstr name="WebServerUsername" val="yourusername"/>
        <attstr name="WebServerPassword" val="yourpassword"/>
