[Speect-users] Purpose of ERROR_HANDLING cmake flag

Hi to all,
   after a couple of years trying to find time to do that, I finally
started doing some development with speect.
During my first steps I noticed the cmake flag ERROR_HANDLING. I figured
out that this flag prevent all kind of error handling, but I did not get
why such an option is present. So, what is its purpose? Is it useful for
some kind of debug?
