    Hi all,

    I'm using linux ubuntu 11.04.
    I already installed simon 0.3 (simon_0.3.0-1ubuntu8_i386.deb)
I worked "by the book" I installed all relevant packages, HTK, voxforge.

the bottom line: Simon can not be activate!

The reason - when I try to activate: I quote the popup:

Could not start recognition because the system reports that the recognition is not ready.

Please check if you have defined a vocabulary, an appropriate grammar and recorded a few trainings samples.

The system will then, upon synchronization, generate the model which will be used for the recognition.

after I pressed OK,  the blue frame at bottom screen wrote:

    simone has been deactivated

I pressed on disconnect and activate again and I've got:

Model synchronization could not create base model container

    relevant data:

    configuration of speech model:
        Model type: static model
    Base model:
         HMM definition: hmmdefs
         Tiedlist model: tiedlist
          Macros: macros
          stats: none

    sample rate: 16000 hz
Speech Model -> Trainingdata -> path to the Trainingssamples:

How could I activate simon models?

I chose scenario: mouse for all descriptions here

Please try again after specifying a stats file.
As you are not using it if you use a static model it can be any file (even an empty one) but please specify one.

    Dear Peter,

If I was find, I would use stats file.
I didn't try to find out  because I supposed it is not relevant into static model type.

would you please  tell me where can i find

It should be part of your downloaded base model. But again, it doesn't matter for static models. Just create an empty text file and import this as your "stats" if you can't find the real one.

    Hi Peter,

I created empty stats file and the error solved.
After that I got persistent error, I thought to save your time I should delete all.

    sudo apt-get -f install
    sudo dpkg -remove -force-all simon
    sudo rm /var/lib/dpkg/info/simon.postrm
    sudo rm -r ../.kde/share/apps/simon/
    sudo apt-get -f install

    And install again…
    dpkg -i  simon_0.3.0-1ubuntu8_i386.deb
    dpkg -i simon-dbg_0.3.0-1ubuntu8_i386.deb
    The installation completed smoothly.

now when i'm running simon I've got a new persistent error.
error description: popup come up, I quote the  message:

    "Error - simon"
"Could not initialize scenarios and shadow dictionary. "

I'm sorry to bother you so much but I don't have other way to continue with simon

How can I move forward with simon?

    Best Regards,

    Have a nice day

    Fixed the error!

    "Error - simon"
"Could not initialize scenarios and shadow dictionary. "

    the way:
I run sam and I imported scenario (mouse for example).
When I run simon again, simon Continued beyond the last point was stopped.

Thank you all for your help
