Beta2.1 for windows

I've managed to get hold of Windows machine, and compiled win32 binary of sPDaR beta2.1. It's available in downloads.

Beta2.1 available!

For beta2, I forgot to update version number in application, and licencing info in "About" dialog. This small update fixes both.
This update to beta2 does not fix any operation-related bugs, so you don't have to upgrade.
Git repo will be updated later, as I am waiting for Gitorious to work (they have system maintenance).

Beta2 available!

All coding went well, and so, beta2 is now available. Currently, linux64 and source packages are ready, others might follow soon (not sure, as I use Linux only).

Move to Git, beta 2 announcement.

I've decided to use Git SCM instead of SVN. The new, up-to-date repo is available at https://gitorious.org/spdar/

Also, I'm preparing code for another release. It will include some new features/ bug fixes (QDoc documentation, partial folder recognition).

Beta 1.1 released

I found 2 bugs today, and fixed both immediately. Details are available in the changelog: https://docs.google.com/document/edit?id=16o4_5bl-EgVweYI3fg-fmf4A9fo-q1elXAMerPOexec&hl=en_GB

Source code and Linux64 binaries are already available. Windows binary should arrive soon.

Beta1 release!

I've prepared next major release of sPDaR, featuring 11 new file extension support, custom extension support and more.

Linux64 binaries in English and Polish, Windows32 binaries in English, as well as source code, are already available on SourceForge.

This version is being marked as beta1, for it needs some testing. Especially the new and custom file formats support should be checked for errors - I don't use that feature myself (I only use JPG and CR2 extensions - and those work very well (no errors at all)). From code perspective, there should be no problems with those new formats.... read more

Upcoming release details

Today I've sent a major update to SVN. It won't be followed by an immediate new release in download section, but is a great step towards that. If coding is going to go as smoothly as recently, I'll have the new release (named alpha2 or beta1) ready in 2-3 days.

The biggest news is added support for 11(!) file formats, and a convenient option of user-specified (custom) formats.

Most of the changes are outlined in the changelog: https://docs.google.com/document/edit?id=16o4_5bl-EgVweYI3fg-fmf4A9fo-q1elXAMerPOexec&hl=en_GB and on the SVN commit message.

alpha1 release

I'm happy to announce the immediate release of alpha1. Currently uploaded are: linux64 English and Polish binaries, and the source code.

Since this is first release, I'd like to write a few words about what sPDaR actually IS. It's development started ca. 1,5 years ago, when I became frustrated by the fact that my photo collection is becoming more and more hard-to-follow and manage. And manage. So I created an app that:
1. Downloads photos from my camera/ card reader into an organized archive.
And, after developing/ processing the photos (in other apps like Bibble or GIMP):
2. Automatically transfers the processed photos (and those only) into a separate archive (easily viewable for example by my family).
3. The other thing important for me was for the app to be available on Linux. Therefore I chose to develop it in Qt, which makes it possible to compile sPDaR for every major operating system in existence.... read more
